Summary:  

 

The individual in this position is responsible for the effective marketing and sales of all Lottery products and the ongoing recruitment of new retailers in their territory.                                                           

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Motivate retailers to maximize sales potential, update POS material, review inventory and resolve problems the retailer may be experiencing.
  • Provide classroom and on-site terminal training on all terminal operations.
  • Have complete knowledge of the product; must learn the rules of each game and how it plays.
  • Follow Lottery policies, rules and regulations.
  • Educate retailer/clerks on new games-train store employees.
  • Improve ticket display placement.
  • Increase number of ticket display units based on retailer's needs.
  • Strategically place point of sale at retailer locations
  • Offer to run promotions to increase sales, design and set-up promotions, set-up in store player promotions.
  • Suggest helpful marketing tips.
  • Distribute winner awareness information
  • Keep abreast of how retailers and players feel about the Lottery's current games, promotions and Lottery programs.
  • Make sure vehicles are stocked with all POS materials and supplies for the day's business.
  • Maintain vehicles through proper service and upkeep as designated through by Donlen Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Assist in surveys as requested by the Lottery.
  • Assist in opening or closing retailer accounts per Lottery request.
  • Pick up games that are being returned or closed out.
  • Support special events, local fairs and festivals which the lottery is supporting.
  • Alert retailers on end of game dates and procedures and encourage retailer to promote/sell closed out games.
  • Train and support clerks on how to cross-sell instant products with on-line products.
  • Offer assistance with corporate accounts in the form of group training, special sales incentives and customized store promotions, and statewide coordination of promotions.
  • Offer to run promotions to increase sales, design and set-up promotions, set-up in store player promotions.
  • Duties related to assisting in performing diagnostic terminal or communications tests and  interacting with the operations staff as directed to resolve a terminal or communication issue.

 Education and/or Experience:   

 *High School Diploma or Equivalent                                                             

 Language Skills:     

 *Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally.                                                   

 Other Skills and Abilities:  

 *Present a professional image, as a SGI employee representing the Lottery's point of view.

*Suggest helpful marketing tips.  

*Cultivate good working relationships with Tel-Sell representatives to maximize service to the retailers/

*Develop rapport with the retailer/motivate clerks involved with ticket sales.
